On the pitch Swindon started November with a 2-1 away win over Exeter in the LDV Vans Trophy. They also beat Sheffield Wednesday for the second time in three weeks winning 4-1 in the FA Cup 1st round with goals from Howard, Jenkins, Duke and Roberts. A week later Swindon beat promotion chasing Hull City 4-2 with two goals from Sam Parkin, one from O'Hanlon and one from Roberts.
Swindon ended November with a 1-0 home win over Bristol City in the LDV, then they draw 1-1 with Notts County in the FA Cup, and were then beaten 2-0 live on Sky TV in the replay at Meadow Lane.
Swindon ended 2004 with two wins, beating Peterborough 2-0 on Boxing Day, then beating play off chasing Brentford 3-0, but they started 2005 very poorly being beaten 3-0 at home to Colchester in one of the worse games of the season.
Two goals in two minutes by Grant Smith were enough to get the the first away game of 2005 off to a winning start, beating Bradford 2-1, bu then lost 2-0 when they were back in Yorkshire a few days later at Sheffield Wednesday.The month ended with Swindon going out of the LDV Vans Trophy to Southend losing 2-0, but ended with a 3-0 home win over Stockport.
Off the pitch Steve Jenkins was signed on a free transfer from Peterborough after a successful loan spell. Christian Roberts was involved in a car crash in Flemming Way, which saw him miss a number of games, and in fact he hasn't scored another goal since the crash.
17 year old Lee Holmes joined on loan for three months from Derby County in December, and has since been linked with a possible move back to the County Ground. Jamie Slabber also joined on loan from Spurs.
In January Christian Roberts was ruled out for the next two months after he had to have a hernia operation.
