"A Kit too Far?"

"This is the first positive step the club have taken in ensuring that fans are involved with the club and hopefully with that will repair some of the bonds that have been wrenched apart because of the ridiculous ticket pricing this season" stated TrustSTFC Vice-Chairman Andy Ratcliffe. "It's also refreshing to see the club being open about its plans for the kit and announcing now that there will be new kits for the next two seasons and because of that the price will be reduced."

"Whilst all of this is good news, there is a downside as well" warned TrustSTFC Treasure, Leigh Collett. "The deal with Strikeforce has been announced as a two year deal, so what happens after that? There will no doubt be at least one new kit with a new deal, and if the deal is not with Strikeforce, then it will be two. This means there will be kit changes in four consecutive years, which is way outside the recommendations of the FA for a change of kit every two years."

"Not all fans buy replica shirts, but those that do will often by the home and away kit over the two year cycle" continued Collett, "changing the kit this often, will leave many fans feeling ripped off, despite the lower price for next season. TrustSTFC has yet to be convinced that the club are not just trying to exploit the faithful 4,500 Town fans that turn up most weeks, but no doubt this will become clearer when the club announces > next season's match day ticket prices."
