Andy Gurney Takes Haine & Smith Award

The Town skipper has been inspirational throughout the season but has shone during February. He is the Club’s second highest goalscorer with eight goals and his spectacular free-kick against Tranmere will surely go down as one of the goals of the season. He provides Town with great energy in attack and discipline in defence.

‘Gurns’ faced stiff competition from Stefani Miglioranzi, Bart Griemink and Danny Invincibile but members of the STFC Executive Club decided on the former Bristol Rovers player as the man to take the award.

Haine & Smith opticians have been looking after Wiltshire’s eyes for over 27 years and have 19 local practices, including 3 in Swindon – one of which, Swindon Contact Lenses, can be found on Regent Street, in the town centre. For all your optical needs, simply log onto the website and find your local practice.

The Haine and Smith Player of the Month award has been kindly donated by Barry Smith, whose son Rupert tragically died in 2001. Rupert was a keen supporter of the club and attended as many games as possible.
