The game had been in doubt all week after the cold weather, and Mark Devlin said today: "“We are deeply disappointed and the cancellation has two main implications for the club. Firstly, the game will now have to be played on a weekday night. Inevitably this will mean that we will get a reduced gate and less money whilst secondly, the team is in a rich vein of form and we were hoping for a bigger crowd and ultimately, three points. But the safety of the players must come first and the pitch is not in a state in which the players could play without fear of injury.
“Unfortunately the Blackpool team will have to return without playing a game – they had already made the journey down here, but I suppose at least with it being called off today the visiting fans won’t have a wasted journey.”
No new date has been set yet but it's expected to take place some time in February.
