Brown turned down the chance to move to Brentford, and instead missed Swindon's trip to Ibiza to train with Doncaster Rovers, but he was released after a week, and as now returned to the County Ground.
He was booed by the home fans in the friendly with Crystal Palace, so he may find it hard to stay at Swindon.
Wise said: "I had a chat with him and he has the chance, but he has to work hard and play for the team. If he doesn't do that then he won't be in the side, it's as simple as that. The fans are well aware of the situation as you saw today, but Aaron knows the situation and has to knuckle down now."
