The main reason for leaving Swindon was that he wasn't able to move to the Swindon area due to family reasons, and it was taking too much of his time travelling down from Cheshire every day to Swindon.
He will still coach part time at Swindon.
Wise said: "He tried to help me out and we still remain good friends. It was difficult for him with the travelling and at his age he felt that he had to remain closer to his family."
