It will be the first league meeting of the two sides since Leeds beat Swindon 5-0 in the final game Swindon ever played in the Premiership back in May 1994, however the sides meet in 2003 and again in 2004 in the Carling Cup with Swindon losing 4-3 in a penalty shoot after goal keeper Paul Robinson had made it 2-2 deep into injury time, and a year later Swindon lost 1-0.

All 1700 tickets have been sold in advance, but Swindon are trying to get more tickets. Over 3,000 Swindon fans travelled to Leeds for the 2003 cup meeting.
