The New Zealander's contract expires at the end of the season, but Swindon are keen to extend it after the good run the 23 year old has had this season scoring 12 goals already.
Iffy Onoura told the Swindon Adver: I’ve told the chief executive in these situations, with these players, you have to push the boat out for them because we’d have to push the boat out to get a similar sort in.
“Every club needs a goalscorer and they’re in short demand.
“What Rory brings to the table is the full package. He brings a presence, holds the ball up great, his work ethic is outstanding and he’s got a hunger and desire to do well.
“If anyone put me on to a player like that I’d be interested so that’s going to be the case with Rory.
“We think a lot of him here.
“He wants to be successful and ambitious and I share that ambition.
“As long as the club’s moving in the right direction I’m sure Rory will want to be a part of that.
“I’m hoping he’s available to us for the rest of the season and beyond.
“Fingers crossed that things get resolved in a way that’s beneficial to us all.”
