Power was due to become a director of Swindon Town, but was badly injured in a plane crash returning from Swindon's first game of the season in Hartlepool.
It will take another 18 months for him to fully recover, so he has had to turn down the chance of becoming a director of Swindon Town, and has ended his links with the club for now at least.
