This leaves many fans with tickets, but are now unable to go. This will now cause a lower attendence for this vital local derby.

Fans that have emailed ITV at customerservice@itv.co.uk have so far only been given a standard email saying:

"I am sorry that you are disappointed with the decision to move the Swindon v Reading match to Thursday 14th February.

The ITV Sport Channel apologises to any fans inconvenienced by the change in scheduling, which was necessary because the original match selected for transmission - Millwall v West Bromwich Albion - was cancelled due to FA Cup commitments.

Swindon v Reading was selected for broadcast because it is an attractive fixture. It also does not involve extremely long distance travel for visiting fans. The change was discussed with and approved by both clubs and the Football League.

Once again, I am sorry that you remain disappointed but hope that I have been able to address your concerns"

How ever both clubs are unhappy at the game being moved. Reading FC Said: "Further to a number of comments from fans regarding the re-arrangement of the away game at Swindon, now taking place on Thursday 14th February, the Club would like to stress that neither ourselves nor Swindon Town had any power to object to the move........Everyone at Reading FC would have much preferred to play the game on the Saturday as scheduled"
