Shakes will then join up with the Trinidad and Tobago squad on Sunday ahead of their game on Tuesday evening against Iceland which is being played at QPR's ground Loftus Road.
Shakes is Swindon's first full international player for a few years, maybe since Paul Bodin who played for Wales when it was at Swindon in the early 1990's.
Shakes said: “Hopefully we will get the right result and that will set me up to report with Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday.”
