Although Swindon haven't meet Southend in the league for quite a few years the two sides have meet quite a bit in the cup, with Swindon being beaten 2-0 in the LDV only in January, and the season before Swindon won 3-2 in the Carling Cup., and in the 2002/3 season Swindon thrashed Southend 6-1 at the County Ground in the LDV.
The other new clubs to League One for the new season are: Gillingham, Nottingham Forest, Rotherham, Yeovil, Scunthorpe and Swansea.
