At the start of October Paul Ince left the club after only a month,and went on to become Macclesfield's manager.

Goal Keeper Peter Brezovan broke his arm against Grimsby. Ady Williams took over in the goal and kept a clean sheet with Swindon winning 3-0.

Both Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet left the club in October to become Leeds United's new management team. Ady Williams was appointed as a caretaker manager before Swindon appointed Paul Sturrock as their new manager in November.

Andy Gurney retired from football during November after picking up a few injuries which had ruled him out for the last few months.
