For those of you unfamiliar with Gordon’s work, his style of guitar playing is considered unique by many of his professional peers. He has released over 40 albums and his most famous single ‘Heartsong’ received massive airplay and reached the top twenty in the UK singles charts. It was used for seven years by BBC Television as the theme tune to the popular ‘Holiday Programme’ and was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award. A recent recording featured Brian May of Queen, Midge Ure of Ultravox, Steve Howe & Rick Wakeman of YES.

Early in January he will celebrate 35 years of recording by filming two concerts for a new DVD.

In 1996 Sir Cliff Richard invited Gordon to be a principle figure in his musical ‘Heathcliffe’. Gordon was cast in the roll as the Troubadour, a sort of musical narrator, he also wrote two pieces for the show.

Gordon Giltrap represents a unique British musical talent having evolved a guitar style which is as individual as his music is recognisable. Gordon’s astonishing technique, which comprises elements of all musical genres and transcends barriers of style and taste, has enabled him to compose some of the most stunning acoustic guitar works in recent decades.

Swindon Town Football Club are proud to welcome Gordon Giltrap to the County Ground for a concert where all profits will go to the club. You can meet Gordon and he will be delighted to sign albums that will be on sale after the concert. On the posters around the ground and in the programme are quotes from Sir Cliff Richard and Sir Tim Rice
