Gurney came close
Wycombe scored first moments before half time, with a close range shot from Devine after a Swindon mistake.

Player of the year Matt Heywood then scored after 56 minutes with a close range header to put Swindon back in the game. Andy Gurney also came close for Swindon in the second half.

The Second half also saw a male streaker run onto the pitch, from the Town End half of the Nationwide Stand, minutes after he was lead away, andother fan run onto the pitch from the other end of the Nationwide stand with a ball, and scored!!!

Late on Andy King brought on youth team player Ian Herring for his first ever first team game, youth player Josh Thomas also made the bench, as did Craig Farr who will become to new number 2 keeper next season, as Richard McKinney is being released.

After the game Andy King said: “It’s been a gradual progression, but this side has improved following last season and it was nice to avoid the pressure that we had to endure last season. I feel sorry for those that have had to go through that today, but the fact that we haven’t is testament to my players who have worked their socks off this season.”

“Wycombe came here up for the game and at times, put themselves about with some ferocious tackles. Yet despite that we’ve come out on top the better side and should have won the game.”

“We’ve got a squad largely made up of free transfers and young kids and they’ve been magnificent. Compared to the likes of Reading and co, we’ve spent very little yet have outplayed teams on a regular basis.”

“Matt Heywood swept up with all the Player of the Year competitions, but they’ve all done well. From Bart, through to Willis, Reeves, the midfield and Sabin, Young and Invincibile up front - they’ve all been a credit to the club and can all go away this summer proud of their efforts.”

Swindon finished the season 13th with 59 points.
