Swindon V Notts County at County Ground - Match Preview

Robins waiting for Ferry

Swindon are sweating over the fitness of Simon Ferry ahead of the visit of Notts County.

The 25-year-old Scot has been suffering from a tight hamstring but the club are hopeful he has not suffered a tear and will be given the green light to feature if he can come through Friday's training session.

Fellow midfielders Tommy Miller and Alan Navarro should be available for the clash with the Magpies. Miller has been carrying a calf knock but looks set to be involved while Navarro (hamstring) has returned to training.

Miles Storey (hamstring), Troy Archibald-Henville (knee) and Aaron Oakley (foot) will all miss out while Nathan Thompson, man of the match in the 2-0 victory over Yeovil in midweek, is one yellow card away from a two-game ban.

Swindon's win over the Glovers moved them to within one point of the automatic promotion places in npower League One.

Notts County head to Wiltshire with an unchanged squad.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Julian Kelly remain doubts after missing last weekend's 1-0 win over Scunthorpe at Meadow Lane.

Winger Campbell-Ryce is nursing the knock that forced him off during the home defeat to Preston while right-back Kelly continues to struggle with the calf problem that has seen him miss the last five matches.

That means midfielder Gary Liddle could carry on at right-back with Academy product Haydn Hollis keeping his place at centre-half.

Greg Tempest and Curtis Thompson, former youth teamers along with Hollis, will also be looking to get more game time under their belts after substitute appearances in recent games.

The same can be said of former Ilkeston striker Tyrell Waite, 18, who came off the bench against Scunthorpe.
