On the pitch it was a good month for Swindon going unbeaten. The New Year started away at Cardiff with a 1-1 draw. Cardiff scored in the 90th minute to deny Swindon all 3 points.
Swindon's first home game of 2003 was a 3-0 home win over Chesterfield. This was followed with a 5-2 away win against Stockport with goals from Parkin, Reeves, Robinson, Hewlett and Sabin. Swindon also drew 1-1 at home to Blackpool, and finished the month with a 2-1 home win against Wigan.
In other news Miglioranzi extended his short term contract by another month, Sam Parkin was awared the PFA player of the month for December 2002, Swindon signed Jerel Ifil on his first loan spell at the club. (A year later he is still at Swindon on loan) Chris Collins was released by Swindon and signed for Newport County, and Juan Cobian finally left the club after three years, and only six appearances.( I haven't heard any more from him since) Andy King also let Portsmouth's Luke Nightingale return to Pompey after not impressing King during his month's loan at the County Ground.
