Swindon were 19th in the tabel with one game to go, Cambridge and Bristol Rovers were below us, but both had a game in hand.

On May 2nd Bristol Rovers meet Wycombe with BBC Wiltshire Sound covering the game live, as it was so important. Bristol Rovers lost the game 2-1, and this meant Swindon stayed up.

On May 5th, we played Stoke City away, with nothing to play for. 4,000 Swindon fans made the trip up to the Midlands, and saw Swindon lose 4-1, with Swindon were losing 4-0 by half time, by a Keith O'Halloran penalty on 55 minutes was Swindon's only goal.
