It’s a pre-season friendly and we have to protect the pitch, not only for the opening match against Barnsley but the game against Sporting Gijon on Sunday who we have paid money to come over and play us.”

Swindon still plan to take a reserve side to Wantage tomorrow night, and should be back in action on Sunday against Spainish side Sporting Gijon.
