Paul Sturrock wanted to play as many of the first team players who didn't play on Saturday as possible so he could see his full squad in action.

He has also recalled Ben Wells and David Stroud from their loan spells with Basingstoke. Swindon's only goal of the game was scored by Wells.

Both sides have to wait until January for the second leg to be played.
