Simon Cox opened the scoring for Swindon on 32 minutes. Aldershot  then scored twice before Jerel Ifil scored an 83 minute equaliser taking the game to a penalty shoot out.

In a change since Swindon's last penalty shoot out against Barnet Swindon actually scored and won the shoot out with penalties scored by Smith, Cox, Easton, Ifil, Amankwaah, Allen and Marshall meaning Swindon won the shhot out 7-6.
