Brentford 0 Swindon 2

Andy King changed Swindon's formation to 4-4-2 and dropped Matt Hewlett, replacing him with Andrew Nicholas.

The first half was fairly uneventful at the cold and windy Griffin Park. Andy Gurney's free kick from 20 yards was Swindon's best chance after Brian Howard had also been fouled.

Alan Reeves replaced Matt Heywood at half time, who had suffered a head injury during the first half.

Swindon started the look the better side, and began to pile on the pressure on the Brentford goal coming close a number of times.

Brain Howard scored for Swindon after 66 minutes with a goal from the edge of the pitch beating Brentford 'keeper Paul Smith.

Brentford then had a spell of piling on the pressure on the Swindo goal with Rhys Evans forced to make a couple of good saves. Brentford also hit the bar, but the ball bounced over.

On 82 minutes Swindon scored a second after a Tommy Mooney pass found Sam Parkin who was able to score past the advancing Paul Smith.

Swindon had chances to score again with Parkin coming close, but this time the keeper saved the ball. Swindon also hit the bar right across the goal, but the ball went wide.

Overall a good win for Swindon who took their chances well. After a poor first half Swindon could have scored 3 or 4 in the second half, but the 2-0 away win is a good result and moves Swindon back into the top half of the table again.
