Nearly 2,000 fans made the short trip up the A419 to Cheltenham, which saw Swindon wearing their new 3rd choice kit for the first time.

Swindon took the lead after 35 minutes with a header from Blair Sturrock from a Zaaboub cross to give Swindon their first ever league goal against Cheltenham to make it 1-0.

Sturrock came close again, but it was 1-0 to Swindon going into the half time break.

In the second half Swindon again did well, but had a penalty appeal turned down when Roberts went down in the box. In the first half Cheltenham also had a penalty appeal rejected, and their player was booked for diving.

Cheltenham equalised on 72 minutes with a 25 yard shot from Ashley Vincent who had just come on as a sub. His shot left Phil Smith with no chance of saving it.

Miguel Comminges came close for Swindon, but his shot was well saved by the Cheltenham 'keeper. Swindon came close a few more times, but ran out of time.

Overall it was a good game with Swindon having plenty of the ball, and plenty of shots on goal. A draw was a fair result, although Swindon really did deserve to win. The Cheltenham manager after the game commented that a 3-3 draw would have been a better reflection of the game.
