Swindon took an early lead when Sam Parkin came close to scoring after 5 minutes, but he couldn't find enough space in front of goal, so he passed to Lee Holmes who scored his first goal for the club since joining on loan from Derby County two months ago from close range.
Swindon came close to getting a second goal with Lee Holmes once again having his header saved.
Doncaster equalised on the half hour mark when a mistake by David Duke allowed Neil Roberts to score from close range.
Both sides came close to getting a second goal before half time with Sammy Igoe having his shot go over the bar, and Rhys Evans been forced to make a couple of good saves at the other end, but the score remained level at 1-1 going into the half time break.
Swindon should have taken the lead on 65 minutes when Grant Smith had it first shot saved, but the ball rebounded back to him, but he could only hit the post on his second attempt.
Rhys Evans had to make a few more good saves in the second half to keep the score at 1-1, but Swindon only had a few more half chances as they couldn't break down to the Doncaster defence.
Overall a draw was a fair result, and it was a good game with nothing much between each side. If Swindon had won then they would have gone into a play off spot, but as other results went their way they remain in 7th ahead of next weekend's home game against Bournemouth.
