Hartlepool 2 Swindon 0

This was Swindon's longest away trip of the season up to the North East coast for Swindon's first away game to Hartlepool since 1985.

Swindon started well, but it was Hartlepool who scored first when Rhys Evans who judged to have bought down Hartlepool's Porter just inside the box, and the referee pointed to the spot to give the home side a penalty. Evans was also shown the yellow card.

Gavin Strachan took the penalty and sent Evans to wrong way to score and give Hartlepool a 1-0 lead.

Swindon came close on the half hour mark when Mooney hit the bar, although this wouldn't have counted as the linesman was waving his flag for offside.

After the half time break, where the Swindon fans were given £5 vouchers to spend in the STFC Super Store to say thank you for making the 5 hour trip north Swindon looked the better side.

Mooney, Miglioranzi, and Gurney all came close within a few minutes of each other, but all hit the ball just a couple of inches over, or wide right in front of the travelling Swindon fans.

On 86 minutes Swindon came close to making the score 1-1, but then Hartlepool broke away to score a goal for themselves at the other end when Jack Wilkinson beat Evans.

Overall an average game affected by some strong wind gusts. Swindon didn't deserve to lose, and draw would have been a fair result as Hartlepool were not 2 goals better than Swindon.

Swindon now have a 2 week break before playing at home to Plymouth on December 13th.
