Histon 1 Swindon 0

Swindon made their first ever trip to the Cambridgeshire village of Histon in the 1st Round of the FA Cup.

Phil Smith only lasted about 15 minutes before he suffered a head injury and had to go off. Peter Brezovan who had only just returned from injury himself came on instead.

Histon who have no full time employee's let alone players had the best of the play in the first half with Swindon rarely threatening in front of goal.

Histon thought they had scored direct from a throw in when the ball went straight in, the goal seemed to have been given and the ball and players returned to the half way line to kick off again before the referee double checked the rules with the linesman, and 4th official before disallowing the goal.

Danny Wright scored for the home side on 65 minutes making it 1-0.

Swindon's chances were still being restricted by good defending from the non league side. Swindon did have quite a few corners, but still couldn't do anything with them.

Swindon came close to getting a late equaliser, but Histon held on to take the victory and the gaint killing, which was deserved as they were the better side on the day.
