Before this week Swindon hadn't had a 0-0 draw for over 18 months, but have now had two in a week after picking up the draw against second place Hull City, who got promoted as other results went there way.
Hull had most of the early pressure with Swindon's first chance not coming until after 20 minutes when Grant Smith hit his shot wide from 25 yards.
Rhys Evans had already been forced to make a number of good saves, as well as Hull hitting some of the shots wide as they piled on the pressure at the Swindon goal.
For the rest of the first half Swindon never really looked like they would be able to break down the Hull defence, with thier goal scoring chances limited to a header from Rory Fallon who has a good game.
In the second half Swindon had more of the ball, and could have scored with with a couple of good chances by Rory Fallon being saved, and another chance being forced over the bar, and away for a corner.
Brian Howard also come close to scoring for Swindon when a pass from Evans allowed Howard to run half the pitch before having a shot from 25 yards which just went wide of the post.
Rory Fallon came close again later in the game. Sam Parkin had a quiet game with most of Swindon scoring chances falling to Fallon before he was replaced by Christian Roberts with five minutes left to play.
Rhys Evans had already had a good game, making a number of important saves before the 92nd minute arrived and the home side were awarded a penalty given for a foul by Evans on Leon Cort as Evans tried to make a late save. A Penalty was given, but Evans dived the right way (to his left) and saved the spot kick, then the referee blew for full time before Hull had any more chances to score.
The draw now means Swindon can't get into the play off's, and Hull have now been promoted to the Championships as Tranmere could only draw, so all the 23,000 fans went home happy even though they hadn't seen any goals. It was another good game for Swindon, with plenty of chances, like on Wednesday evening, but just no goals again.
Swindon's next game is at home to third place Tranmere Rovers next Saturday.
