Swindon started well with Sam Parkin looking like he would score early on, but it was Luton who took the lead after 13 minutes when Heywood fouled Ahmet Brkovic in the box, and the referee awarded Luton a penalty which Kevin Nicholas scored from even though Rhys Evans dived the correct way.

Swindon then piled on the pressure with Grant Smith coming close to scoring, but they against the run of play Swindon found themselves 2-0 down when Brkovic scored from close range, the ball didn't hit the back of the net, and from the away end it looked like Luton had missed as the ball then went wide of the goal, but the goal was given anyway.

On 34 minutes Swindon got a goal back when on loan Michael Proctor scored from close range following a Grant Smith corner to give Swindon some hope.

Swindon pushed forward to try and get an equaliser before the break with Heywood having an penalty appeal turned down, and Swindon having a number of corners with Parkin coming close to scoring again, but Luton held out to go into the half time break leading 2-1.

Swindon started the second half well with Proctor coming close to scoring, and Parkin having another shot saved.

Luton came close to scoring hitting the bar from 10 yards out, but aprt from that Luton didn't have that many chances on goal in the second half.

On 67 minutes Christian Roberts came on as sub playing his first spell at first team football in 2005 replacing Michael Proctor. Roberts came close to getting an equaliser to 80 minutes from another corner, but his shot went just wide.

On 83 minutes Rhys Evans looked to have saved the all just inside his area, but then he dropped the ball which allowed Peter Holmes to score from close range into the empty net to end any Swindon hope of getting anything out of the game.

Overall Swindon deserved something out of the game as they had more of the play than Luton, and as one Luton fan said coming out of the ground. "We know we are doing well when we play badly and still win."

Swindon's next game is at home to Wrexham next Saturday in a must win game for Swindon who have now slipped to 9th in the table.
