Swindon started well with a couple of good chances in the first few minutes, but fell behind after only 8 minutes when Wamchope headed City into the lead, from then on Swindon could only try to keep the score down.

Kevin Horlock made sure of knocking Swindon out when he scored on the hour.

Manchester City's pace showed as although Swindon had a few chances they weren't allowed even one shot on goal.

Swindon 2,000 strong travelling fans were able to out sing the 19,000 city fans throughout the whole game. Swindon will get around £60,000 from the game which will go towards paying off some of the debts owed by the club.
