It was Milton Keynes who took the lead on 14 minutes when a mistake by David Duke allowed Small to score after beating Evans in a one-on-one after a 20 yard run.
After coming close a few times in the first half Swindon equalised two minutes before half time when Grant smith headed in a Steve Jenkins cross from close range much to the delight of the 1,000 or so fans that had made the short trip up from Swindon.
Swindon missed a number of chances to take the lead in the second half, with Sam Parkin coming close before Grant Smith hit the bar.
A minute into the two minutes of stoppage time Swindon were given a penalty for the second week running when Milton Keynes Dean Lewington touched the bar when a Sammy Igoe cross hit his hand. Grant Smith took the penalty, but the Milton Keynes 'keeper dived the correct way and saved the shot leaving Swindon were no time to get a winner.
Overall Swindon really should have won as they had quite a bit of the play, and after Milton Keynes first goal they never looked like they would get a second, but Swindon had to settle for the point which leaves them 3 points off the play off's in 8th spot ahead of next weekend's longest trip of the season away to Hartlepool.
