Shrewsbury 1 Swindon 2

738 Swindon fans made the trip to Shropshire to see the other STFC in action. The pitch was slighly waterlogged on one side as the pitch is next to the river.

Swindon took the lead after 12 minutes when Lee Peacock's shot was only half saved, and the rebound came to Onibuje who scored from close range in front of the travelling Swindon fans.
Phil Smith was in goal for Swindon in his first league game for the club, and he needed to make a couple of good saves to keep Swindon ahead during the first half.

Ricky Shakes should have made it 2-0 mid way through the first half, and it was through on goal when it would have been easier to have scored his shot went wide.

Andy Monkhouse had to go off after Wise signalled from the bench it should drop to the floor as he seemed wo be walking in some pain. He was then then taken off and replaced with Aaron Brown.

After a second half foul by Jerel Ifil on 68 minutes Shrewsbury were given a free kick just outside the box. Ben Davies took the kick and hit it into the top corner to make it 1-1.

On 81 minutes Swindon were given a corner, which found Brown who's shot from the edge of the box was deflected into the back of the net to pt Swindon back into the lead at 2-1.

Overall a fairly good game, and another important win for Swindon which see them stay it 3rd place ahead of next Saturday's top of the table clash at home to Lincoln City.
