Southampton started the first half looking like the better side. They thought they had scored on 26 minutes when Lambert hit the post, and Barnard thought he had scored from the rebound. However the linesman had it flag up for offside and it was not given.
Swindon looked alot better in the second half, and took the lead on 56 minutes with another goal from Charlie Austin who took the ball around the 'keeper to score into the empty net.
Phil Smith was on good form in the Swindon goal, and made a number of good saves to keep a clean sheet.
Late on Simon Ferry was sent off for getting a second yellow card.
Overall a good win for Swindon, and although Swindon played well they were lucky to come away with a win. This moves Swindon up to 4th place going into Saturday's home game against top of the table Norwich City.
