It was Swindon's first trip to Swansea's new Liberty stadium. Iffy Onoura made four changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Hartlepool on Saturday with Nicholas, Shakes, McPhee and Peacock all starting in the place of Ifil, Cureton, Jenkins and Benjamin.
The first half was fairly uneventful with Swindon having few shots on target, but McPhee and Brown both came close, but both had their shots saved.
Swansea also came close a couple of times with Evans having to make a few good saves, and Swansea also being let down by some poor finishing which saw the ball in the stands rather than the net.
Lee Peacock had to go off injured with a knee problem after 40 minutes, and he was replaced by youth team player Lukas Jutkiewicz, who did OK during his 50 minutes on the pitch.
Swindon started the second half well, but Swansea were still having a lot of the ball, but Swindon took the lead on 62 minutes when Ricky Shakes found the ball at his feet from 5 yards out after a poor Swansea backpass, and scored to give Swindon a rare away lead.
Minutes later Swindon should have been awarded a penalty for a hand ball in the box, but it wasn't given, and a minute laster Swansea who had bought on ex Swindon striker Rory Fallon equalized.
The equalizer was scored on 72 minutes by Andy Robinson who scored from 10 yards out beating Rhys Evans. It was the first goal conceded in normal play since the Tranmere Rovers game over a month ago.
Then the home side on 81 minutes made it 2-1 when Adrian Forbes beat the offside trap to score from 10 yards out.
Overall a fairly good game, with the second half being better than the first. Swindon should have got at least a draw out of the game as they played well, and had plenty of the ball. The defeat leaves them still in the bottom four going into Saturday's home game against bottom of the table side Milton Keynes Dons.
