The match ball arived from the Royal Marine's who jumped off the roof of the Nationwide stand, with the ball, and then delivered it to the centre of the pitch.

Swindon got off to the worse possible start when Wade Elliott was able to run down the right hand side of the pitch, pass David Duke and to score after only a minute. Rhys Evans didn't move in the Swindon goal, as it looked like he thought the ball was going wide.

Swindon came close to getting an early equaliser with Grant Smith having his shot go just over the bar.

Wade Elliott went in with a very late tackle on Rhys Evans, but was only booked for this. Evans was able to carry on, but five minutes later he had to be replaced in goal by Steve Book as he hadn't 100% recovered from Elliott's earlier tackle.

Despite Swindon having most of the play leading up to the half time break they were unable to break down to the Bournemouth defence with Parkin and Proctor never really having much of a chnace in front of goal.

In the second half Swindon pushed for ward looking to get an equaliser, but it was Bournemouth who doubled their lead on 57 minutes when a mistake by Steve Jenkins allowed James Hayter to score from 12 yards out.

Then on 73 minutes Bournemouth went 3-0 up when Matthew Mills headed in a goal after a Bournemouth corner.

Jamie Slabber on as a second half sun should have scored late on for Swindon, but somehow missed when he looked easier to have scored.

Grant Smith also came very close to scoring with a powerful free kick hitting the post, Igoe then had the ball in the back of the net from the rebounded but it was ruled out for handball, and Bournemouth were given a free kick instead.

Overall Bournemouth did deserve their win, but not by 3-0 as they only had 3 chnace to score, and they took all of them. Apart from taking the ball out of the back of the net Steve Book had very little to do all afternoon. Bournemouth's defence did it's job in keeping Swindon out, even though Swindon had a lot of the ball thoughout the game.

Swindon now travel to the of the table Luton next week hoping to repeart last year's result when they won 3-0.
