The game was watched by a crowd of 10,341m one of the better attendances of the season.

Within a couple of minutes of the start Swindon hit the bar with a free kick from Alan Sheehan.

Ex Swindon player Jo Kuffour gave Brostol Rovers the lead on 25 minutes with a one on one against Lucas which he was able to lob the ball into the net to make it 1-0.

Paul Heffernan doubled Bristol's lead on 39 minutes. Then just before half time Bristol Rovers made it 3-0 scoring from a Lines free kick of the edge of the area.

By 61 minutes things had gone from bad to worse when Hughes made it 4-0 after he was left unmarked.

Overall a very poor game from Swindon, with some poor defending allowing Rovers to take their chances well. Luckly for Swindon Millwall could only draw, and Huddersfied also lost so Swindon remain in the play off's.
