A fortunate goal from Jon Nurse rescued a point for Dagenham as Swindon stretched their winless run to 14 games with a 1-1 draw.
On-loan Leeds striker Mike Grella gave Swindon a first-half lead, only for Nurse to equalise with eight minutes to go to salvage John Still's side a point.
The breakthrough came on the stroke of half-time when a long ball from Phil Smith, which was aimed at Calvin Andrew, was inadvertently headed back towards his own goal by Daggers centre-back Scott Doe.
Grella battled with Abu Ogogo on the edge of the box and the striker managed to get the better of him and place a fine lob over Tony Roberts for his first goal in a Swindon shirt. It was also the first time the Robins had taken the lead in a match for over three months.
Dagenham were more threatening in the second half with Danny Green causing problems on the right wing.
And with eight minutes left on the clock, the ball dropped to Peter Gain on the edge of the area and his fierce shot hit Nurse and looped into the right-hand corner for his sixth goal of the season.
Swindon were denied a penalty deep into injury-time when Paul Caddis was body-checked by two Dagenham defenders but the referee waved the protests away.
