Swindon took the lead after 24 minutes following a corner which found Michael Pook, who shot from an angle. The ball looked to have hit the side netting, but in fact found the back of the net to give Swindon a 1-0 lead.
Crewe equalised shortly before half time on 42 minutes with a powerful shot from Steven Schumacher beating Phil Smith to make it 1-1 going into the half time break.
Swindon had plenty of chances to take the lead with the best chance falling to Christian Roberts with should have scored, but instead hit his shot far too high over the bar, and even over the Town End roof into the car park behind.
Phil Smith had to make a late good save to keep Swindon in the game. Overall it was a good game which Swindon should have won if they had taken all their chances. The 1-1 draw will be seen as two points lost, rather then one point gained.
