Swindon 1 Hartlepool 1

Swindon started with two changes over the side that beat Chesterfield with Jerel Ifil starting instead of Andy Gurney and Diagouraga replacing Michael Pook.

The first half was poor with Swindon having limited chances to score, and they went closest on 18 minutes when ex Swindon player Michael Proctor hit a 25 yard shot wide.

Hartlepool took the lead on 31 minutes after being awarded a free kick 25 yards out. Richie Humphreys took the free kick which rebounded off the Swindon wall into the back of the net to give the North East side a 1-0 lead.

Trevor Benjamin also had to go off injured and was replaced by Lee Peacock.

A foul of Jamie Cureton in the box in the last minute of the first half meant the referee gave Swindon a penalty. Cureton took the kick, but it lacked any real power and the Hartlpool 'keeper dived to his right and made the save to keep them 1-0 up going into the half time break.

Swindon were booed off at half time, and some fans also song "What a load of rubbish" as the players were walking off.

On 54 minutes Peacock equalised when a cross from Brown found Peacock who header in from 5 yards out in front of the Town End.

Hartlepool had a number of corners but didn't look like they would score again, although Jerel Ifil did have to stop a goal bound header.

Swindon came close to getting a winner with Jamie Cureton coming close a couple of times, including hitting the bar, and then the ball rebouding out but Chris McPhee on as a sub for Gareth Whalley couldn't score with the follow up.

Overall an average game with neither side looking that good. Hartlepool and Swindon both only had limited chances so a draw was a fair result. This moves Swindon up at place as Walsall lost, but means thy are now 3 points away from safety, but do have a game in hand away to Swansea City on Tuesday evening.
