It was a fairly quiet first half with neither side having a shot on goal until the 44th minute when a cross from Roberts didn't find any swindon players in the box, and instead found Rochdale's Alan Goodall who without any pressure headed the ball into his own net to make it 1-0 to Swindon.
On 52 minutes Swindon were awarded a penalty after Shakes was fouled in the box. Roberts took the kick by the 'keeper dived the correct way and saved the shot.
Then on 73 minutes Rochdale gave away a second penalty after a handball in the box. Paul Evans took the kick this time, and for the 4th time in 3 games the penalty was saved.
Rochdale rarely looked like scoring although Brezovan did have to make a few good saves in the Swindon goal, and apart from the 2 penalties which Swindon should have scored Swindon didn't look that good either.
The win moves Swindon up to 2nd with 9 points ahead of this Saturday's long distance away trip to Darlington's 27,500 seater stadium.
