Only 4,139 fans turned up on this cold damp evening, and those that stayed away didn't miss much.
Swindon started quite well for the first ten minutes or so, but fell behind after 21 minutes after a cross from Zola found Chris Greenacre who scored from close range.
Swindon then pushed forward for an equaliser with a long distance shot from Andy Gurney having to be saved by the Tranmere 'keeper, and young Michael Pook also came very close for Swindon, but his shot went out for a corner which was wasted.
On 33 minutes against the run of play Tranmere made it 2-0 with a shot from ten yards out from Sam Aiston beating Rhys Evans, although he did get a hand to the ball.
At the start of the second half Ricky Shakes came on for Swindon replacing Jack Smith, and later in the half Jarrett came on to replace Miglioranzi.
Swindon had a few corners but none of these went anywhere near scoring.
On 69 minutes Jamie Cureton gave Swindon a chance with a goal from 5 yards out, his 5th for Swindon, making him the highest current goal scorer at the club.
Ricky Shakes came close to getting an equaliser a few minutes later, but his shot went just wide. Swindon did push forward a few times looking for an equaliser but they ran out of time.
Overall a poor game which leaves Swindon still in the bottom four going into Saturday away Westcountry derby with Yeovil Town. Overall a draw would have been a fair result as it was two poor sides playing each other. Neither side looked a major threat, but it was Tranmere who took their chances and scored.
