Wycombe started the game with two ex Swindon players with Tommy Mooney making his first return to the County Ground since leaving in May 2004, and goal keeper Frank Talia also playing for Wycombe.
Swindon also started the game with Manchester United 'keeper Tom Heaton playing his first ever senior game, and Christian Roberts and Tony Thorpe replaced Fallon and Cureton up front.
Wycombe started looking the better side, with new 'keeper Heaton forced to make an early excellent save from close range to keep the score level at 0-0.
Wycombe took the lead on 12 minutes with Ian Stonebridge scoring from inside the box with his shot going in off the post.
Colin Heath went just wide for Swindon, whilst Christian Roberts had a shot saved off the line. The final 15 minutes of the first half looked the best period of the game for Swindon who were unlucky not to score.
Michael Pook equalised on 59 minutes with a 20 yard shot, and for a few minutes after Swindon looked as if they could take the lead.
Nathan Tyson gave Wycombe the lead again against the run of play on 62 minutes with a low angled shot from close range.
Then Jonny Dixon extended Wycombe's lead on 69 minutes with a rebound shot after the ball had hit the post seconds earlier.
Swindon never looked like they would come back from this, and the night wnet bad to worse on 85 minutes when Swindon were reduced to ten men when Alan Reeves broke his leg after going in for a tackle, and Swindon had already used up their three subs.
Overall a fairly poor game which Swindon never looked like winning for much more than a few minutes. Only 3,976 fans turned up, including over 500 from Wycombe. Swindon now return to league action on Saturday when they play Yeovil Town for the first time in a league match.
