Swindon 2 Accrington Stanley 0

Swindon came close a few times early on after a couple of mix ups with Accrington back passes. Lee Peacock found the ball at his feet with the 'keeper well off his line, so he shot from 30 yards out but hit the bar, and was cleared away.

Swindon had plenty of the ball, but still didn't create many chances in front of goal. It looked to be 0-0 going into the half time break until 5 minutes into stoppage time Swindon were awarded a penalty for a hand ball. Jack Smith took the kick and scored making it 1-0 at half time.

Then a couple of minutes after the restart Swindon made it 2-0 with a free kick just outside the box taken by Aaron Brown who found Andy Nicholas who was on hand to head in from close range.

Accrington had few chances to score, although Phil Smith did have one good save to make, but Swindon never really looked like scoring again, so the game ended up with a 2-0 win. This moves Swindon back up to 3rd place as other games went Swindon's way. Swindon's next game is away to Grimsby Town next Saturday.
