England Under 21 goal keeper Rhys Evans started in goal for Swindon replacing Bart Griemink who has been dropped to the bench.
New striker Tommy Mooney scored his 5th goal of the season after only 8 minutes with a header to give Swindon the lead over Steve McMahon's Blackpool side.
Two minutes later Blackpool were level thanks to poor Swindon defending which allowed Douglas to score for the seaside club from close range.
Tommy Mooney's shot on 25 minutes struck the cross bar, but within a couple of minutes Blackpool had taken an unexpected lead with a goal from Taylor just beaten Evans, who may miss Saturday's game with Brighton because he will be on England Under 21 International duty this Friday evening.
By 30 minutes into the game Toomy Mooney scored his 6th goal of the season with another header. This was Swindon's 11th league goal of the season so far. Only QPR have scored more goals so far this season.
After four goals in the first half an hour the game died down a bit with the scores still being a 2-2 at half time.
Mid way through the second half Swindon were given a penalty following a corner when the Blackpool keeper pushed Mooney right in front of the referee.
Sam Parkin took the penalty, but the keeper dived the right way, and made a good save to keep the score at 2-2 which is what it remained at for the rest of the game.
Overall another good game from Swindon, and a fair result, although Swindon were unlucky not to get a winner From Sam Parkin who also had a few good chances saved by the Blackpool keeper after his penalty.
Swindon travel to face Brighton away on Saturday 6th September.
