New loan signing Michael Timlin started, with Phil Smith starting in goal again as Andy Longeran is still injured.

Phil Smith made a good save for Swindon on 23 minutes, pushing the ball out for a corner, even though Swindon should have been given a goal kick seconds earlier when Bury ran the ball out, then back into play, but it wasn't given. From the corner Bury took the lead when a close range header from Paul Scott found the back of the net.

Then on 34 minutes Swindon equlised when an Andy Nicholas cross found Chistian Roberts who scored with a left foot shot from 12 yards out with his 5th goal in the last 4 games.

Swindon also had to clear an Bury shot off the line to keep the socre leval going into the half time break at 1-1.

It was a fairly uneventful second half and it looked to be ending with a 1-1 draw when a minute into the 3 minutes of stoppage time a shot by Christian Roberts ended up in the back of the net when it deflected off John Fitzgerald for an own goal, and put Swindon in the lead.

Bury's loan 'keeper Kasper Schmeichel, the son of ex Manchester United 'keeper Peter Schmeichel came up for a last minute corner for Bury and came close to scoring, but his shot was put on for a corner, then Swindon got the ball and tried to score into the empty net at the other end, but ran out of time as the ref ended the game.

Overall an average game, but an important win for Swindon which moves then back up to 2nd. They now take a break from the league as next week face Morecambe at home in the FA Cup 2nd round.
