David Byrne took charge of the team after Friday's sacking of Malpas, but kept the team looking more or less the same, although Jerel Ifil did make a return on the bench.
Swindon had a first half goal disallowed after a foul on the 'keeper, but apart from this it was a fairly uneventful first half and both sides went into half time with the scores still level at 0-0.
Oakley opened the scoring for Leicester on 59 minutes.
On 75 minutes a mix up with Phil Smith allowed Leicester to make it 2-0 with a goal from Matt Fryatt.
On 84 minutes Simon Cox pulled a goal back for Swindon from close range.
Then 2 minutes later Barry Corr equalised following a Swindon corner which stunned the 2,000 travelling Leicester fans.
The game finished 2-2 which was a fair result as both sides had plenty of chances and it was a good game, with the second half being the better half. Swindon's next game is the local derby away to Bristol Rovers next Saturday.
