Swindon 2 Northampton 0

Only 4,719 people turned up to watch at the County Ground, Swindon's worst home league attendance so far this season.

Swindon played well all game, which was a big change from the last two games against QPR and Cheltenham, even though Andy King had only made one team change, replacing Gareth Edds with Adam Willis.

Swindon took the lead just after the half hour mark when new signing from Spurs Johnny Jackson's free kick went straight in.

Griemink was kept quiet in the Swindon goal, with very little to do all game, Northampton never really looked like scoring.

Swindon were able to double their lead with 10 minutes to go when ex Northampton player Sam Parkin was fouled him the box by Northampton keeper Lee Harper, who was then shown the red card. Parkin took the penalty and scored.

Overall a much better game all round, although Swindon need to try and create more chances. They were luckly today in that Northampton never looked like scoring.

Swindon now travel to face Luton Town away next Saturday, and have now moved back up in the table to 17th on 10 points.
