Swindon 2 Nottingham Forest 1

The game was on even though the pitch was very muddy, with a crowd of 9,815 watching.

Swindon started well, but had to wait until the 35th minute before taking the lead. Swindon were given a free kick for hand ball on the edge of the box on the Arkells Stand side of the box. McGovern took the kick was it was put into the net by Forest's James Perch for an own goal.

Swindon were also doing well in the second half, but Forest drew level after 63 minutes when Luke Chambers who was unmarked scored following a corner.

Swindon had the ball in the back of the net before this, but the goal was ruled out as the referee had already given Swindon a free kick on the edge of the box, which they hit over the bar.

Swindon should have scored a couple more times, but the ball got stuck in the mud which stopped it from rolling across the line, and the ball was cleared away.

New Signing Moses Ashikodi came on for Blair Sturrock and did well in the 15 minutes his was on the pitch.

On 83 minutes Swindon were back in the lead when Ian Breckin headed into his own net for a second own goal of the afternoon.

Overall a good win which Swindon deserved as Nottingham Forest looked poor, and rarely looked like scoring. Swindon should be in action on Tuesday night when they play Barnet in the Fa Cup 3rd round replay.
