Swindon started well again, but the first main point of the game was after 16 minutes when Andy Caton making his first league start for nearly 2 years had to go off injured, and was replaced by Aaron Brown.
After a few early chances Swindon were awarded a free kick of 34 minutes after a foul on Lee Peacock. Aaron Brown took the kick from just outside the area and scored into the left hand side of the goal with the shot going around the wall to give Swindon a 1-0 lead.
Christian Roberts had to go off injured towards the end of the first half, but he returned to the field of play a couple of minutes later with a new unnumbered shirt, and a bandage wrapped around his head.
Ricky Shakes also came close for Swindon hitting the bar just before half time.
Christian Roberts scored for Swindon to make it 2-0 on 63 minutes with a shot from just inside the box beating the 'keeper who was unable to reach the ball first.
Ricky Shakes again came close for Swindon with a cross with looked a bit like a shot on goal, but went just wide.
Stockport never had any real chances on goal, and Peter Brezovan had a quiet game in goal only having the odd long distance shot to save.
Overall a good game where Swindon could have had 5 or more goals, but had to settle for a 2-0 win which was a fair result and leaves Swindon top of the table with 15 points going into Friday night's away game against Chester.
