Christian Roberts started for Swindon having served his one match ban against Macclesfield.
After a few first half chances Swindon took the lead in the final minute of normal time in the first half with a header Lucas Jutkiewicz from close range after a Christian Roberts cross.
On 52 minutes Swindon went further ahead with a goal from Lee Peacock after he headed in a cross from a Michael Tinlin free kick on the edge of the area.
Tommy Mooney played for Wycombe, and wasn't given the best of welcome's by the Swindon crowd, but Swindon also made sure it wasn't a happy return for him as he failed to score, or even come fairly close to getting on the score sheet.
On 80 minutes Wycombe scored to make it 2-1 with Jermaine Easter scoring from 10 yards out, and although Phil Smith had to make a couple of good saves to keep Swindon in the lead Wycombe ran out of time for getting an equaliser.
Overall a fairly average game, but an important win for Swindon as the other teams at the top of the table all won as well. The win keeps Swindon 4th at the half way stage in the season going into Saturday's final home game of 2006 against Notts County.
