Swindon 3-0 Morecambe- Match Report

As simple as one, two, three for Swindon

First-half goals by Jake Jervis and Raffaele De Vita and a third midway through the second period by substitute Ronan Murray saw Swindon to a comfortable 3-0 win over Morecambe.

Swindon, pleasing on the eye, were good value for their victory against a Morecambe side who began brightly but fell away after Town scored their second on the stroke of half-time.

The rampaging right-wing runs of Paul Caddis proved a constant threat for Swindon, who took the lead with a 28th-minute header by Birmingham loanee Jervis who rifled Liam Ridehalgh's cross into the roof of the net.

Morecambe were left to rue missed chances before half-time, in particular when the influential Andrew Fleming fired into the side netting after Swindon goalkeeper Wes Foderingham had saved from Danny Canton.

Matt Ritchie was equally threatening for Swindon, supplying a series of probing left-footed crosses into the box - one of which picked out De Vita at the far post to double the lead on the half-time whistle.

Swindon twice came close to stretching their advantage in the second half, only to be denied by fine saves from Barry Roche.

But midway through the period, Caddis burst through again and laid on Swindon's third, which Murray drilled home.
